Recommended Tour sequence:

enter here: ocean side front porch. proceed through Front Hall into Aids to Navigation room where you can deposit your much needed donation to help restoration and learn about why we still have need of lighthouses in the GPS era.

Pass through the edge of the Kitchen and down in to the Basement where we have a video telling you The Story of Point Pinos Lighthouse.

After the video come back up and see our representation of the Kitchen from the 1920s. The Recipes for Pork Cake and Cod Fish Stew will make you so hungry, yum! Note also the energy efficient ice box and hot water heater.

Next is the Bath with the original tub and onto the Parlor to see life in the 1890s. Not that bad. They even had 3D cards to view.

From here you go up the narrow stairs to the Beach Patrol, Lookout and Emily Fish Bedroom.

Keep going up the stairs to a room just under our actual working light with its original Fresnel Lens from 1855. As it is still a functioning lighthouse we are not allowed next to the lens itself, but you can see it reflected in the mirror set in place. From here go back to whatever rooms interest you for a closer look.

We normally have two or three docents on duty. Feel free to ask any questions you have.

Once outside, please visit our wonderful Gift Shop (to get the 22 minute video and restrooms if needed).

Thank you very much for visiting us and helping our restoration effort with your generous donation.

PDF to have with you when you visit.
